Your thoughts are personal. At Loopself, we see your reflections not as data points but as deeply meaningful moments. We protect your privacy with encryption, never sell your information, and only use your entries to support your growth. This page explains how.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

We collect what is needed to create and support your account:

• Your email address, name or login details

• Payment information (only for Reflect or Patron subscriptions)

• Optional preferences such as chosen tone (Mentor, Coach or Analyst)

1.2 Emotional and Usage Data

To support your journey, we collect:

• Journaling entries, mood and energy check-ins, and AI tone preferences

• How you use the app, such as journaling frequency, features accessed, and your device or browser

1.3 Insight and Feedback Data

• Self-assessment responses (for example, Big Five, PHQ-9)

• Feedback or ratings you choose to give on reflections

• Any support requests or emails you send to us

2. Why We Collect It

Your data helps us:

• Provide personalised journaling and AI-generated reflections

• Identify emotional patterns and symbolic themes over time

• Recommend quotes, prompts and moods that align with your journey

• Secure your account and manage your subscription

• Understand what is working and where we can improve

Loopself does not use your entries to train AI models. Your thoughts remain your own.

3. How AI Works

We use OpenAI’s API to generate real-time reflections, like a mirror that speaks back gently.
🧠 Important:

• Your journal content is never stored by the AI model

• Reflections are generated temporarily and are private to you

• You can turn off AI anytime using the “Free Write” mode

4. Your Control Panel

You are always in control. You can:

• ✍️ Edit or delete individual journal entries

• 🔐 Lock your journal using biometric login or 2-factor authentication

• 💾 Export your data as a PDF or machine-readable file

• 🗑 Request full deletion of your account and all associated data

• 🚫 Use “Private Mode” to write without AI input

5. Who We Share With

We do not sell your data. Ever.
We only share it:

• With trusted services such as cloud hosting or payment processors, under strict agreements

• If we are legally required to do so (such as a court order)

• If Loopself undergoes a business change such as a merger or acquisition

We never sell or advertise using your emotional data.

6. How We Protect Your Data

We take emotional privacy seriously:

• End-to-end encryption for all journal entries

• Secure login with email, password or biometric access

• Compliance with UK GDPR and CCPA

• Optional “Journal Lock” for additional protection

• Regular security audits and encrypted backups

7. Safe Mode and Emotional Support

Loopself includes a Safe Mode feature:

• Automatically activates when distress is detected in writing or mood scores

• Offers grounding exercises, breathing prompts and supportive language

• Provides immediate access to crisis helplines based on your region

These entries are handled with the highest care and are never shared.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active.
If there is no activity for 12 months, we will send a reminder. If no response is received, your data may be deleted for safety and security.

You may delete your account and data at any time through the app or by contacting us.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies:

• For secure logins and basic functionality

• To anonymously analyse app usage

We do not use advertising cookies or track you across the web.
Browser settings can be adjusted to control or disable cookies, and we respect “Do Not Track” requests.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• 🧺 Request deletion of your data

11. Children’s Privacy

Loopself is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child is using Loopself, please contact us immediately.

We may suggest articles, books or wellness tools from external sources. These are optional and not endorsed partnerships. Please review their privacy practices before use.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy in future. If significant changes are made, we will notify you via the app or email.
